God send us a signal
This is a piece I made a couple of years ago. It was intended to be the first one of a series of soul maps. I'm not sure whether it would be maps of different souls or different maps of a soul.

Penumbra
All I wanted, was escape reality. That's what I always did. And that's what I'll keep doing. Through the worlds I create in paper.

Attention. Photographs.
From now on, I have decided, along with the sketches, to exhibit some photographs too. Not anything professional. Only some quick pictures (much like quick sketches), I take with my phone whenever I find something interesting or something that can turn out to be interesting. During the past two years, I have collected tons of such pictures and I thought it's about time showing some of them. In many cases, these photographs help me create drawings and vice versa. Sometimes, I also try to insert the sketches inside the photographs and use the atmosphere I couldn't create with my hand. Just like in the last picture you see.

Jacob
"They come, they fight, they destroy, they corrupt. It always ends the same."
"But it only ends once. Anything that happens before that, is just progress."

Retrofuturism
"This pencil must be the answer! We, on earth, would say it has magic powers, but there's probably a scientific explanation behind it. Too advanced for us to understand."

Adventure in Babylon
Through this series of sketches, I tried to get back to the basics. To shape and volume. To light and shadow.

Seals
For the past couple of months, my interest has been focusing in chinese seal carvings and calligraphy. A product of these experiments, is a symbol created for a good friend of mine, who recently started working with photography, and wanted some kind of signature for his pieces. The result, which you see first, is, as I like to say, a mixture of chinese and byzantine calligraphy. The rest, are just an exploration of this new world. I must say, I found pleasure in filling my pages with these enigmatic symbols.
You can see a part of John's work here.

Bouche Fermée
About two years ago, I designed a logo, or a symbol, as I like to call it, for a group of five talented musicians, named "Bouche Fermée". This was my first ever "serious" job, and my first contact with "clients", meaning the piece I was creating had to satisfy others too, besides myself alone. The result depicts a visual language I was working on at that time, and it is good to see that now. You can see the final piece first, and then the process of making it.
Also, you can watch the guys here. They are really good.
